From fresh pastel tones to bold prints, refreshing linen to quirky silhouettes, we’ve spent all winter daydreaming about summer fashion. While we love to keep our eyes on the runways of New York, Paris and London for sartorial inspiration, our southern hemisphere locale means we have our very own approach to seasonal styling. With summer just weeks away, we’re looking forward to one of Brisbane’s most celebrated runway shows, the Recreate Fashion Show and Twilight Market.

As part of National Recycling Week, Recreate is an innovative celebration of Brisbane’s approach to sustainability, environmentally friendly initiatives, and keeping our city green. The one-of-a-kind runway show will feature handmade designs from a talented line-up of local designers, who have been challenged to craft a stunning outfit out of nothing but recyclable materials. This year’s line-up of talented designers, artisan market stalls, food trucks and entertainment will see the event be bigger and better than ever!
Creating recycling couture for this year’s runway is Sofia Moreno-Marcos, Lucy-Belle Rayner, Sharka Bosakova, Connor O’Grady, Jonathan Pampling, Cindy Vogels, Jane Wolfe, Robyn Woodrow and a collective of designers from The New Garde. Each designer will be bringing their own unique style to the showcase, entertaining attendees with an exceptional show of innovative and inspiring fashion. The Recreate Fashion Show and Twilight Market is an inspiring initiative presented by Brisbane City Council and VISY Recycling that aims to encourage locals to consider how we can all work together to keep Brisbane clean, green and sustainable.
