Mmmmm, Good Food Month. A whole four weeks crammed with culinary delights. Does it get any better than that? Unless Chanel bags start growing on trees, we don’t think so!

Picture this: no more sad (yet satisfying) two-minute noodles and microwave pizzas. Every night is a different delicious destination, your tastebuds incessantly indulged, your stomach eternally full. We’ve all had that dream.

Good Food Month is Brisbane’s dietary genie of sorts, serving up a mouth-watering selection of events to keep our rumbling tummies at bay, at least until August. Boasting an astonishing assortment of options, Good Food Month is guaranteed to satisfy even the fussiest of foodies.

For the romantic: Picnic at Cedar Mountain

Curl up on your favourite rug and soak in the serenity of the South East while you snack on cheese and charcuterie. Sing along to the soothing sounds of the acoustic entertainment and be sure to bring that special someone – there’s no use snuggling alone.

For the sweet tooth: Dessert with Nicholas Waring

Who needs dinner when you can skip straight to desert? Put down that bag of M&M’s and prepare yourself for a five-course dessert degustation. (Yes, you heard right: FIVE COURSES.) *drools*

For the patriot: Lunch at Customs House

Forget the couch – indulge in a decadent two-course meal at one of Brisbane’s heritage icons, Customs House. Dine by the river and gaze out at spectacular views of the Story Bridge. Now that’s eating in style!

For the lady who lunches: Tanqueray & G Tea Garden Party

It’s scones with a side of sass: all the best parts of traditional high tea, with the added bonus of a drink (or three). Sample Tanqueray Gin cocktails and iced tea and top it off with some tasty bite-sized treats. Whoever said tea had to be tame?

For the serial bruncher: The Bundaberg Blueberry Breakfast Bowl

Gone are the days when a piece of toast would suffice to start the day. Breakfast is back in a big way and there’s no better way to bask in its glory: enjoy a big helping of fresh blueberry pancakes topped with just about every berry under the sun, some mousse AND ice-cream. It sounds a bit like dessert to us but we’re not complaining.

For the local lover: The Bush Does It Better

Experience country living at its finest and treat yourself to farm-fresh produce sourced straight from the paddock to your plate. The event features entirely natural, locally-sourced crops ranging from pasture-fed hen to sweet corn and beetroot.

For the explorer: Floating Street-Food Market

Hands down, Good Food Month’s Floating Street-Food Market has got to be just about the coolest way to enjoy a meal. Drift down the Noosa River and wander through the stalls, pausing to snack on each scrumptious serving. Sounds good to us!

For the musician: Sunday Long Lunch & Jazz

Immerse yourself in the sultry sounds of swing; take your usual Sunday sesh up a level and sit back and watch some of Brisbane’s hottest young musos do their thing over a glass of wine and a whole lot of delicious delicacies.

For the Asian enthusiast:The Night Noodle Markets

Despite the usual drawcard of, well, noodles, this year the highly-anticipated Night Noodle Markets is serving up none other than the infamous Raindrop Cake. While we’re not sure it constitutes dinner, we have to admit we’re beyond keen to give it a try.

For the chocoholic: Cocoa and Vino

Pony Dining sure knows how to do hump day treats! In celebration of Good Food Month, they’ve unveiled a five-course chocolate-inspired degustation carefully crafted by Head Chef Chris Mann. Dishes include smoked duck skin with mandarin and cocoa, dark chocolate raviolo and warmed chocolate with braised fig, to name a few.

For the fitness fanatic:Vegan and the Vine

Join Yalumba winery for an evening of education and enjoyment. Settle in for a three-course vegan feast (accompanied by delicious hand-selected vegan wines, of course) and hear from the chefs exactly why the vegan lifestyle is both sustainable and satisfying – yum!
