Usually when food is good for you, there’s a sacrifice you make for it, be that price, taste or its all-important Insta-worthiness. But the new Teneriffe wholefoods café Wilde Kitchen is giving a whole new (and delicious) meaning to “eating clean”.
You’ve seen the #cleaneating posts (If you haven’t, where have you been?), and while it’s a super-trendy term, most people wouldn’t know what it really means or how simple, achievable, and non-pretentious it can actually be.
When you boil it down, clean eating is all about choosing fresh, whole foods with all their nutrients intact to ensure you’re treating your body right.
And this is a niche where the Wilde Kitchen fits right in, with their focus and passion squarely on providing food for fuelling the body for an active lifestyle. And far from the rabbit food bent we’ve come to expect from clean eating sources, their food is packed with all things mouth-watering. Their fare is prepared with natural, unprocessed ingredients and is sourced from local suppliers and their menus range from a café menu, takeaway options, pre-prepared meals and catering options.
The natural, unprocessed, gluten-free and nutritious dishes (yes, folks, ALL the dishes are gluten free!) are as appealing on the palette as they are on the eye. Culinary offerings include protein pancakes, prosciutto and fried eggs, and a Moreton Bay bug burger, as well as heaps of smoothies and breakfast bowls for those on the go.
If you time to dine in, the rustic fit-out has plenty of wooden tables outside, and Wolff Coffee Roasters have also come on board as their coffee supplier to make your morning extra perky. Lord knows we LURVE our coffee!
Wilde Kitchen is open daily from 6.30pm and lunch is served until 2.30pm.
