SkyPoint Bistro + Bar is easily one of the most iconic bars on the eastern coast of Australia. Situated a staggering 77 floors above the stunning Gold Coast, this observation deck-cum-bistro bar is the closest you can get to the clouds without actually flying (we know, we did the math).
If you aren’t sure where SkyPoint is, it’s not hard to find. Just look towards one of Australia’s tallest buildings, the Gold Coast’s iconic Q1, and go straight to the top floor. SkyPoint is already famed for their uninterrupted 360-degree views of the Gold Coast hinterland and beyond, and the one-of-a-kind vantage point their observation deck offers, but that’s not what has us positively giddy with delight: it’s the announcement that they have finally unveiled their $450,000 refurbishment!
Be still, my beating heart.
Revealing a completely new look for their dining and entertainment spaces, the newly launched SkyPoint Bistro + Bar is easily one of the Gold Coast’s chicest bars. The cool, contemporary décor comes courtesy of Brisbane-based Daarc Architecture + Interiors, who have reinvented the observation deck and bar as a world-class destination with plush, clean interiors. The Bistro + Bar will showcase a brand-new à la carte menu for summer, including a range of tapas style dishes. The weekends will be amplified thanks to a selection of live music from local artists every Friday and Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
After hitting the surf this weekend, make your way 230 metres into the air for a couple of drinks, all while taking in unparalleled views of everything from Byron Bay to Straddie. Whether you have some out-of-towners that you want to treat to a good time, or if you’re just keen to play hometown tourist for an afternoon and get a couple of Insta-snaps in the process, doing so 77 floors in the air is a pretty damn good idea.
