Having your phone out at the table was once a massive sign of disrespect and disinterest; these days, it’s the new “compliments to the chef”. But Brisbane food bloggers and foodies in general are a hard bunch to please. Most Instagrammers won't post any old steak and veggies to their feed; they'll only post the most beautiful and uniquely-plated dishes, to keep their feed as attractive and alluring as possible.
Of course, the taste of the dish will always matter, but the Instagram foodie revolution is definitely making the appearance of the dish work just as hard for our approval. Here’s the menu for the best Insta-worthy venues in Brisbane:
While we’re devastated they removed the hit gingerbread pancakes from the menu, we’re pretty happy with the alternative: strawberry and cream hotcake with local honey, fresh berries, whipped cream and nut crumble.
