My name is Claire, and I’m a chocoholic. Come 3pm, I’m scrabbling in my handbag for something sweet, making my way to the nearest vending machine, or fast-tracking to the local for my fix. It’s an addiction, and I feel the munchies in my very soul.
However, as I don’t have the metabolism to support this addiction, something has to be done. And that something is tracking down Brisbane’s best healthy treats. There’s everything from doughnuts to vegan chocolate on the list, and it’ll keep you guilt-free when you cave to those 3pm cravings.
Miss Bliss
Free wi-fi and sweet treats? All a girl’s deepest desires filled in the one place. We’ve written about the Not So Nutella Bliss Bowl before, but the bliss balls and raw cakes are the stuff (healthy) dreams are made of.

Nodo Donuts
Never before have doughnuts been on the menu for the gal with tricky dietary requirements, or the gal who’s watching her weight. Despair no more! Nodo Donuts recently opened in Newstead, and are so good for you, you could eat them for breakfast. Gluten-free and baked fresh daily, you’ll never go back to Krispy Kreme again.
Botanica Real Food

An oldie but a goodie, you just can’t go past Botanica’s window in Red Hill, piled high with gluten-free cupcakes, vegan brownies and tarts so decadent you’d think your cholesterol could take a leap just by gazing upon them. The menu changes daily, but think ginger and golden syrup bar cake with poached pear or blueberry and lemon mini tea cakes with pistachio glaze… is your mouth watering yet?
Kiss The Berry
A while ago, acai was the superfood. While we’ve now moved on to beetle antlers (probably), acai still tastes particularly delicious when made to taste like a peanut butter and jam doughnut by the wizards at Kiss The Berry. Their new Spring Menu features this very delight, or something with fruit in it if you like your treats more traditional.
Coco Whip at Paw Paw or Pineapple Express

Trust me. Tasting coco whip is a life-changing experience. You will not believe that something so decadent could actually be good for you. Paw Paw pairs theirs with vegan caramel sauce and a crumbly vegan slice on top, while Pineapple Express gets a little funkier with flavours like Death By Chocolate and Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup. Anything that tastes like healthy peanut butter has me sold!

The Well Nest
The Well Nest adds an extra laziness component to my treat addiction – you can get them delivered straight to you! The utterly delicious vegan raw chocolate brownie is the pick of the bunch, and you can also stock up on healthy dinners while you’re at it!
