Brisbane’s First Dedicated Seafood Bar Has Arrived!

There is officially a new fish on the river and it’s Brisbane’s first ever dedicated seafood bar.

As residents of the Sunshine State, there is no question we are avid lovers of a large serving of crispy, beer-battered fish and chips. And if one thing is true, its that an Australian summer would be incomplete without an abundance of long lunches brimming with fresh seafood.

An old Queenslander cottage perched on the corner of Kangaroo Point has recently had a Hamptons-style transformation, and is the new home to the latest venue you need add to your summer hit-list, Banter Bar & Seafood.


With Daniel Miletic, previously of Burleigh Head’s two-hatted seafood venue The Fish House at the helm, it's clear that this won’t be just your average fish and chips.


At Banter Bar & Seafood, Chef Miletic is plating up an impressive selection of hot and cold seafood for both dine-in long lunches and dinner, as well as takeaway meals. The cold menu includes favourites like Pacific Oysters served natural with a side of pomegranate mignonette & lemon, and prawn cocktails with avocado, cos lettuce and Banter house sauce. The hot menu has a range of options in packs, meals, single fillets, burgers and sandwiches, as well as steak and schnitzel for the seafood haters. But this isn’t your ordinary serving of fish. Think Old School Prawn Sandwich with fresh Mooloolaba Prawns and a Posh Fish Finger Sandwich with crumbed cod and tartare sauce. Have a peep the epic menu here to see for yourself. Banter Bar & Seafood owner Craig Singleton explains that his new venture goes way beyond your average corner bar.

As well as a standout menu full of fresh seafood, the Banter drinks offering shouldn’t be overlooked. The open, breezy rooms of the venue will have you feeling as if you’re in a Hamptons dream, but it’s the glowing neon sign behind the bar that makes the perfect addition to have you craving a cocktail (or two).


Looks like Kangaroo Point is the perfect new spot to enjoy a summer seafood feast with a side of banter!
