Whether you’re stocking up on home equipment, booking a weekly PT session and/or signing up for a gym membership, keeping fit can be expensive! And that’s before you’ve even invested in clothes to wear during your workouts.
Activewear has come a LONG way from daggy sweats, ill-fitted cargos and oversized t-shirts. These days, it’s all about fun, bright, and fashionable pieces that make you look fantastic when you’re working out, running errands, or when you’re just settling in for some Netflix and chill. But sometimes pretty fitness gear can mean a not so pretty price tag. Not so with abi and joseph, who provide functional, affordable and may we just say darn fine looking activewear that won't send you broke.
And the good news keeps coming! Thanks to abi and joseph, we're giving away a $500 gift voucher to one lucky Styler. Now all you have to do is choose how to splurge your gift voucher. We got some of our Style gals to pick out their favourite pieces according to their fitness needs, to show how much you can get for $500. (Hint: it's a LOT).

What do you get up to in your activewear?
Cocktails at the bar… kidding! My commitment to fitness isn’t as consistent as I’d like it to be, but I still like to incorporate activewear into my weekend getup. When I’m feeling especially inspired, I sweat it out at hot yoga or head to the gym with my partner.
Why have you picked these particular pieces?
These pieces are versatile and interchangeable, which is my go-to look for activewear. They are also bright and make a statement, which will inspire my workout. These pieces are fun and on-trend and they provide an effortlessly stylish look.
What sort of music pumps you up for a workout?
For the running side of my workout (when it happens), I need upbeat songs with a lyric that I can sing along to and that will keep me pushing through the pain.
Are you a morning or night exercise person?
I am a morning girl, if my puppy is not cuddled up to me. A lot of my exercise routine depends on my day, how busy it was and how much energy I have to give.
What’s your fitness goal for 2016?
To gain back the addiction for fitness and stick to it.

Leo hi-tech sports bra $62, Zen Garden michi mesh throw over $65, ¾ contour tight $82 and plaited headband $12. Image: Cherie Blyth
What do you get up to in your activewear?
Strictly exercise only. When I put on my gear, it’s business time. I head to PT sessions and boot camps with workout buddies, go for a run and attend the occasional yoga or Pilates class.
Why have you picked these particular pieces?
I’m in love with high-waisted 3/4 leggings, because they make me feel sculpted while I work out. I wouldn’t usually wear a visible crop top, but when I saw this colourful mesh top I just had to trial it with a bright crop underneath. I would definitely be more open to wearing crops with mesh overlays now; even Hannah’s selection (above) caught my eye!
What sort of music pumps you up for a workout?
Music with a high bpm that can set my pace for a run or keep me pushing for a personal best in a workout.
Are you a morning or night exercise person?
I need to exercise as soon as I get up in the morning, otherwise I find reasons to put it off later. Exercising in the morning also makes me feel awake, vibrant and happy for the rest of the day.
What’s your fitness goal for 2016?
Enter a fun run of more than five kilometres.
