Let’s be real: it’s a total bummer that Brisbane’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival is no more. We no longer have an excuse to dress up and head over to City Hall to watch incredible local and national designers take the runway in our city. While we’re still in mourning, there’s always MBFWA snaps to look forward to, right! To get your Aussie fashion fix, I’ve put together the Instagram accounts you need to follow during MBFWA. You can thank me in the form of clothes. Lots and lots of clothes.
Definitely the MOST anticipated show of the week, Misha Collection will be hitting the runway this afternoon, fronted by Bella Hadid. After being named the face of the brands Resort ’17 campaign and their new Misha Gold line, Bella will be opening and closing the show at Carriageworks. Check out the Misha Collection Instagram for previews leading up to the show today!
Liz Sunshine is the amazing photographer behind Street Smith, which focuses on street style photography around Melbourne. Thanks to her amazing eye for detail, you’ll also find her snapping away at events, such as MBFWA. Why should you be following her? If you can’t get down to Sydney for Fashion Week, you can live vicariously through her amazing photos of Australia’s most stylish bloggers and personalities.
This duo NEVER gets it wrong. That’s probably why they have more than 170k followers on Insta. Elle Ferguson and Tash Sefton are the ladies behind They All Hate Us, a fashion blog based in Sydney. If you’re searching for great looks for your A/W inspo, you need to follow their joint account and individual accounts as well! Their feeds will have you green with envy and seriously satisfied with their outfit choices.
An absolute favourite with bloggers and celebrities, Dion Lee will be presenting his show on top of the 28-storey Bloomberg Building in Sydney’s CBD tonight. He’s done six seasons at New York Fashion Week so Sydney might feel like a holiday compared to that! His resort show will include swimwear, tailoring and a strong focus on daywear. His Instagram has already showcased some sneak peeks so make sure you’re following to be updated!

The official hair partner of MBFWA, Redken is a must-follow for Fashion Week Down Under. If you LOVE seeing behind-the-scenes pictures and beauty trends as much as you love the clothes on the runway, then look no further! Redken will be styling for Bec & Bridge, Dion Lee, Oscar De La Renta, Zhivago and more. You also have the opportunity to shop the looks from their Instagram and be treated to images of the latest hair styles to rock the runway.
Maybelline will be providing you with exclusive access to makeup looks created for a number of shows this week. With their Instagram AND Snapchat right at your fingertips, you can create the runway looks yourself at an affordable price. They also have their own #MaybellineSquad filled with bloggers who are sharing snaps of their Fashion Week experiences - so you get multiple behind-the-scenes snaps coming your way!

One of my personal favourite Aussie designers, Rebecca Vallance will be showing at MBFWA this afternoon. With an impressive celebrity clientele (Rachel McAdams, Chrissy Teigen, Halle Berry and many more), there are so many reasons why you should be following the label! Keep your eye on her Instagram feed this arvo and evening for a glimpse of her resort show. Expect to see Sylvia Jeffreys, Mia Freedman and Pia Miller in the front row!
I feel Kate is the go-to when it comes to Fashion Week and all special events in between. She just always looks so glamorous! If there’s one babe who knows how to rock Fashion Week, it’s her. If you’re not already following her (why wouldn’t you be? Explain yourself!), make that blue button green and enjoy exclusive access through the eyes of one of Australia’s top bloggers and media personalities.
