Our Definitive Guide To MBFWA 2019!

If you’ve found yourself reading this article, you, like us, cannot wait for the start of MBFWA 2019 to roll around again! No matter if you’re judging outfits while sitting on the couch in your pj’s, or showcasing your style while sitting front row (lucky you), we’ve got all the information you need for Sydney’s biggest week of fashion.

So without further adieu, allow us to give you a quick run down on our favourite celebration of Aussie designers. Because, let’s be real, we’ll take any excuse to channel our inner Anna Wintour!

The dates fashion week will run are from is from the 12th to 18th May, 2019.


The home of Fashion Week is Carriageworks in Sydney, of course. However, brands are known to keep it fresh and funky by holding special offsite shows!


A special mention goes to Aje, who has been picked as the 2019 Mercedes Benz designer. They will be opening the week with what will undoubtedly be an incredible display of immaculate design and art. An honourable mention also goes to Tigerlily, who are back in the MBFWA game after a 17 year break. Here is the impressive list of all of the designers that will be showcasing their Resort 2020 collections this week:

Albus Lumen, Alice McCall, Anna Quan, Aje, Aqua Blu, Bassike, Bec & Bridge, Benjamin Garg, Bondi Born, Chloe Mottau, Double Rainbouu, Ex Infinitas, Hansen And Gretel, Jonathan Simkhai, Justin Cassin, Lee Mathews, Leo & Lin, Madison Hislop, Mariam Seddiq, Matteau, Mndatory, Pared Eyewear, P.E Nation, Tafe Nsw Fashion Design Studio, Ten Pieces, Thurley, Tigerlily And We Are Kindred.

In terms of what street trends to expect, we are anticipating plenty of cowboy boots, tye dye and zebra prints, hair clips, headbands and bold and bright statement suits. Keep an eye out for Fendi bags. It will totally be bringing back the ‘00s vibes.
