Even if you don’t know the difference between a disposal and a drop punt, you know the dresses that grace the Brownlow Medal red carpet are something exquisite.
The Brownlow Medal, for those who don’t know, is reserved for the season’s best and fairest player in the league. This may be a big night for the players in the lead-up to Saturday’s Grand Final match but we’re all about watching the player’s leading ladies rock the red carpet.
This year saw many of the wives and girlfriends opt for effortlessly chic hair and makeup, plunging necklines and head-turning pantsuits.
Here are my favourite Brownlow Medal looks:
Annie Nolan | Wife of Liam Picken (Western Bulldogs)
Annie oozes confidence and sophistication in her tailored Carl Navè suit and I love that she is a passionate advocate for a #bullyfreebrownlow
Jesinta Campbell | Girlfriend of Buddy Franklin (Sydney Swans)
The girl can do no wrong! Jesinta looks effortlessly chic in Louboutin heels and a black plunging neckline pantsuit by Stephanie Chechade. The iconic Bulgari snake choker makes the look.
Charlotte Goodlet | Girlfriend of Kieren Jack (Sydney Swans)
This dreamy lavender look by Lillian Khallouf has an impressive amount of detail and looks like it just floats on Charlotte’s figure. Her slick side part, dewy skin and drop pearl earrings complete this look effortlessly! This dress is definitely one of my faves!
Sharna Roelandts | Girlfriend of Tom Rockliff (Brisbane Lions)
Sharna is the ultimate Lady in Red in this Wendy Makin gown. Her bronzed makeup and soft flowing waves work perfectly with understated accessories!
Jordan Ablett | Wife of Gary Ablett (Gold Coast FC)
This look takes the cake for me! The crimson red silk J’Aton Couture dress has cut-outs in all the right places with just the right amount of skin. And don’t even get me started on those thigh-high boots! With slick hair and dewy bronzed makeup, a choker neck tie and Anton Jewellery frosting, she nailed this look head to toe!
Britt Davis | Girlfriend of Joel Selwood (Geelong Cats)
This stunning Jason Grech blush-pink princess gown made Britt one of the best dressed on the night.
Jessie Hultgren | Girlfriend of David Armitage (St Kilda FC)
Wow! This black princess-style Con Ilio gown is an absolute show-stopper. Jessie nailed this look with Anton Jewellery, a simple up-do and complete confidence!
Kahlia Asthon | Girlfriend of Jeremy Howe (Collingwood FC)
Kahlia rocked a moody long-sleeve black Con Ilio gown that hugged her figure in all the right places. Her hair was styled into a soft up-do and she opted for a light smoky eye and plum lip that complemented her look perfectly.
Nadia Bartel | Wife of Jimmy Bartell (Geelong Cats)
Nadia knows how to rock the red carpet this year was no exception. She stepped out in a jewel-encrusted J’Aton Couture plunging jumpsuit with minimal accessories, soft waves tucked behind her ear and a dark smoky eye.
Jessica Todd | Girlfriend of Max Gawn (Melbourne FC)
Jessica looked stunning in an icy blue off-the-shoulder Georgia Young Couture gown and Kozminsky jewels. She kept her makeup and hair soft and fresh – this look is definitely a front-runner for me!
Dani Shreeve | Girlfriend of Jack Gunston (Hawthorne Hawks)
Dani is the definition of glam in this Kyha silver sequined gown. The wish-wash look of the sequins makes for an edgy and textured look and is balanced beautifully with her soft waves and dewy makeup.
Jerri Jones | Wife of Nathan Jones (Melbourne FC)
Even though it was a last-minute decision to attend the event, Jerri Jones wowed in a Kyha gown at 36 weeks pregnant.
Mardi Dangerfield | Wife of Patrick Dangerfield (Geelong Cats)
This list wouldn’t be complete without a mention of the Brownlow Medal winner and his leading lady. Mardi slayed the red carpet in a floor-sweeping red gown with a plunging neckline but kept her details sleek and sophisticated. I love that she opted for the Million Dollar Baby braids and rocked the look with an Anton Jewellery choker. Patrick looked very dapper in his Hugo Boss suit and the two of them give me major #couplegoals!
