We don't know about you, but here at Style Magazines we have somewhat of a reverence for cheese and wine. When served separately, both delicacies have the ability to improve even the worst day. But when paired together, magic happens. Whether it's a sharp English cheddar, an earthy Camembert, or a fragrant Blue, there's always a wine available to perfectly compliment the flavour profile, and visa versa. The Treasury Brisbane is clearly of the same opinion, and has created the ultimate cheese lovers event - a Cheese & Wine Trail, hosted in the Treasury Hotel Courtyard!
Novices and connoisseurs alike will be thrilled by the selection of varieties and vintages from eight of Australia and New Zealand's most notable wineries, including Penfolds, Wynns, Wolf Blass, Cape Mentalle, Catalina Sounds, Shottesbrooke, Cloudy Bay and Domaine Chandon.
An impressive selection of Woombye Cheese Company will be served alongside the wine for an incomparable tasting experience. Produced on the slopes of the Blackall Ranges near Noosa, the cheeses are typical of the varieties developed in rural France and are rich, creamy and luxurious. Whilst we aren't sure yet what cheeses will be served, this is enough to have out mouths watering.
Live entertainment in the way of jazz music will set the tone for this one-off, exclusive event and have you winding-down the work week and toasting to the weekend. “This is going to be a superb event steeped in style, sophistication and history. Guests will have the opportunity to groom their palate, learning about the origins of each wine and the journey from vineyard to glass”, says Geoff Hogg, Managing Director for Queensland.
The event will be hosted in the Treasury Hotel Courtyard at 130 William St, Brisbane, Friday 9th June from 5:00pm. Tickets are $45 and limited. Purchase tickets here.
